I am a BACP Registered Member counsellor working from Southwell (which is near Newark and Nottingham) and online. I specialise in relationship counselling, for clients seeking to work together on shared relationship goals.
A relationship counselling approach can support the resolution of a wide range of issues that affect romantic and familial relationships, also friendships and relationships of a professional nature. Clients might seek support for concerns such as communication problems, trust issues, parenting challenges or long-term relationship fatigue. In addition, there is a growing recognition of the benefit in engaging in counselling before entering into a long term relationship commitment such as marriage in order to build a solid foundation and increase the likelihood of lasting, fulfilling and healthy partnerships.
I undertook my relational counselling training with Relate and I continue to work with Relate clients, who are seeking both relationship and individual counselling.
My approach as a counsellor is bespoke to each client or clients, depending on their goals, needs and preferences. I would typically suggest ways in which we could work together, based on different counselling theories, and it would be for you as the client or clients to decide whether that feels appropriate for you, at that point in time.
There can be many reasons as to why we may wish or not wish to work with a particular counsellor and so, before we commit to working together, I first offer a 20 minute free online consultation, which is an opportunity for us to meet virtually, for you to ask any questions that you may have and also for me to understand a little more about what is bringing you to counselling at this point in time.
Pronouns: she/her
For relationship counselling, we would usually meet first together (ie all parties of the relationship in question) and then each client would have an individual time session with myself, the counsellor and before joint relationship counselling sessions commence.
I use an integrative relationship counselling approach. This is a holistic and flexible method of therapy that combines techniques, theories and interventions from different counselling models. The counselling process is carefully tailored to meet the unique needs of the clients in question, and it is my firm belief and experience that this bespoke model achieves the most effective outcomes.
Thank you for visiting my website and I wish you all the best for any counselling journey you may decide to embark on at this point, or in the future.
Here is a list of my qualifications, which as you will see are not all counselling related, but which I include here, in order to give a bit of background in terms of who I am as a person and my professional life history.
Counselling sessions can be held either face to face, in a space that is comfortable and private from my family home in Southwell, Nottinghamshire, (near Newark and Nottingham), or online/over the telephone.
I offer a flexible set of slots over the week, including early mornings, daytimes, evenings and weekends, to accommodate different lifestyles and commitments.
Sessions last for 50 minutes and usually take place weekly. Cost for an individual client counselling session is £45 and cost for a relationship counselling session is £50.
